We've logged a lot of miles since our humble cycling beginnings in 2010 when we evolved from recreational rides on Trek Fx hybrids to intense training on Trek Madone 5 Series road bikes...we've come a long way baby! At the time, I went kicking and screaming into that conversion, as well as in getting used to clipless shoes...it's a wonder I didn't kill myself (or my husband) in that first year. But 500+ miles in a week through Colorado will get you used to just about anything. And so our obsession began and continues (well, it's more of Johnny's obsession than mine, but I go along for the ride).
After three years of solid biking and one year off, 2014 hopefully proves to be the "Best Bike Year" ever. Aside from the normal indoor and outdoor training, we start the season with the Bottega Gran Fondo, followed immediately by a CTS Climbing Camp, and then Ride the Rockies. We'll have a few month reprieve upon our return where our goal is to maintain all that conditioning before rounding out the year with the Tour de Scottsdale and El Tour de Tucson, approaching close to 3,000 miles if all goes well.
