The Bionic Men in My Life

Both my husband and my father have "bionic parts" at this point in their very active lives, and because both have remained active after these various surgeries, doctors from OH to AZ have recognized their efforts and utilized them as the "Poster Boys" of health and fitness (in their respective age categories, of course!). As a result, I too have been included in a variety of marketing campaigns with them, giving me my 15 minutes of fame as well.

In 2008, we took my Dad to hike the Grand Canyon Rim to Rim as a 60th birthday present, which was postponed a year due to his need for what ultimately became the first of two hip replacement surgeries. His doctor was so impressed with his recovery, which included hiking the Grand Canyon Rim-to-Rim a mere seven months after surgery, that he invited Dad to be part of a marketing campaign for Ohio Orthopedics. Since the gift was from us, I too was featured in the TV commercial and billboards throughout Northwest Ohio, my media debut.
